What is Counselling?
Counselling is a talking therapy, providing a safe, confidential, non-judgemental environment for you to talk about any worries, concerns or problems with a trained professional.
Your therapist will help you explore, thoughts, feelings and behaviours to develop a better understanding of yourself and of others. Their role is not to offer opinions or advice but to help you explore and understand your issues from all angles, to understand yours and others response's to situations and help you to find your own solutions, enabling you to make effective changes in your life or find better ways of coping with life's challenges.
What can counselling help with?
Counselling can help with a wide range of things such as Anxiety, Depression, Suicidal thoughts, Greif, loss, low self-esteem, Anger and other emotions that are difficult to manage.
Counselling can also help you to process and understand difficult situations, health issues, divorce, children leaving home, issues from childhood and other life issues.
The list of things counselling can help with is endless, if you are struggling with thoughts and feelings, if you want to make changes in your life, or if your struggling to decide what changes you need to make, if thoughts and/or feelings are impacting on your daily life, your sleep and/or your health then counselling could help.
What type of counselling is offered?

Person centred counselling - is a humanistic approach that helps the client to explore their own issues, feelings beliefs and behaviours, it is non directive and empowers clients to take the reins in their own lives.

CBT - cognitive behaviour therapy is a more directive approach that helps you explore the connection between thoughts, feelings and behaviours, to challenge unhelpful thoughts, understand behaviours and make desired changes.
What will it cost and how many sessions will i need?
All sessions are delivered over zoom and are charged at £60 per one hour session.
(I offer a limited amount of reduced cost sessions for a fee of £45 pound for people who can prove current receipt of DLA or Carers allowance,
and counselling students who can prove attendance on a recognised course.)

Counselling sessions are usually attended weekly or fortnightly, the next session can be booked after each session or booked and payed for as a block of sessions, you are not contracted to attend any set number of sessions. Therapy can be offered short or long term at the discretion of the clients need, your therapist can advice you on this.
